WATER RATS
Water, water, everywhere
And it’s all running to waste.
Out of the country’s water main
And to mend them there’s no haste.
It would mean less profit
And that would never do.
It would upset the shareholders
And the board of directors too.
So blame all the consumers,
Make them carry the can.
First of all we’ll hit them
With a bloody hose pipe ban.
Then after that if it gets any worse,
We’ll install expensive water meters.
That will hit them in the purse,
It’ll save us millions of litres.
Prices will increase more and more
When water is a commodity that’s free.
But who will stop there profits sore
With this vital necessity.
