THE COUNTRY

I stroll through the countryside of Wales
This land I call my home.
Where as a child, of tender years
Through hills and dales, I roamed.
This land of free, with peaceful air
I once more travel on.
Reliving thoughts of times gone by
This land of hope and song.

Far removed from the city streets
Where life moves to a different beat.
With people rushing everywhere
No time to live, not  time to care.

This tranquil place, I’ve come to love
Bestowed on us by god above.
Hills so peaceful, grass so green,
A wondrous beauty to be seen.

Now for me this journey ends
As the sun sets in the sky
To this land I loved and always will
I’m sad to say goodbye.
