SNORING

(For my husband)

I went to bed tonight, hoping for a good nights sleep,
What’s that noise I thought,
Is it a gorilla escaped from the zoo?
Maybe an elephant, a seal come ashore for an hour or two,
If you keep quiet it just may go away,
Pretend it isn’t there, don’t say a thing.
Oh no, here it comes again,
It’s getting louder, what can it be, it’s just one great din,
I can’t sleep, I can’t escape,
I’ll never get up in the morning,
Please, Oh please, I say my prayers,
I do wish my husband would stop snoring.
