SEASONS

Summer has gone and the autumn is here,
It’s the mellow season of the year.
As the coloured leaves drift slowly down,
Mischievous winds swirl them around and around.
Creating patterns on a gentle slope,
Just like a giant kaleidoscope.
When mellow autumn fades away,
The north wind and Jack Frost holds sway.
Spraying their ice cold breaths all around,
Creating havoc on the frozen ground.
With icy pavements, icy roads,
Traffic chaos and broken bones.
It’s good to see Jack Frost melt away,
And welcome spring and cuckoo days.
With new born lambs and April showers,
Heralding a host of lovely flowers.
Spring flowers will then bloom and fade,
In summers sweltering heat and cooling shade.
When summer ends, again autumn follows on,
Now the four seasons have been and gone.
