Poetry 4 Charity has been designed and published in memory of my father Mr Alfred Weston (picture right)
who sadly died of cancer at the age of 77 in March 2003, at the Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield.
Over 120 poems listed on this website were composed by him during his retirement and his dream was to
see his poetry published into a book for everyone to read. Unfortunately, that was never to be, because of
his sudden death from Cancer.
Being unable to do my normal work due to suffering from the debilitating illness of Fibromyalgia I decided
to learn how to design websites so I could fulfil my fathers wishes and publish his poetry onto the Internet.
With the help of his poems and poetry contributions from other Poets, my aim is to raise funds for UK
Charities, in particular I would like to raise funds for: -

Our Listed Charities also include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care,
Youth Cancer Trust, BBC Children in Need, Oxfam, Arthritis Research, Diabetes UK and more.
My fathers poetry is quite varied and reflects a lot about his life and his personality, during his 77 years
of life in the small town of Dronfield, located just a few miles south of the City of Sheffield.
There are over 125 poems, plus a story about his birth place Dronfield, covering the happy and sad
years of his life, plus a number of poems written for children, hopefully many of them will bring back
memories of the past and also a smile to your face.
To make a donation you can send a cheque payable to your charity or pay safely and securely online using
your credit card via our Just Giving links.
