HOPE
A day will dawn when you and I
Will be no longer here.
Our two hearts will stop beating
And our eyes won’t shed a tear.
One day the stars will no longer shine
And the rivers will cease to flow.
Before that day comes I would
Like to say how much I love you so.
For when I’m not with you my dear,
My life is so incomplete.
I’d like to take my aching heart
And place it at your feet.
Hoping that one day you’ll be there
To hold me close to your heart.
Then you and I will be a pair
When only death will keep us apart.
