High paid cheats are taking over
The Football Game we British love.
Once it was a test of skill
But now it’s all push and shove.
Diving, swearing, pulling shirts
And elbows in the face.
Pressurised and biased referees
Who’re never in the right place.
In our football games today
A solution must be found.
To bring back sportsmanship and skill
And turn our game around.
Back to the days of glory
When players used their skill to score.
Just like Mathews, Charlton and Best
Or our football as lost for sure.
