DOG-GONE
Old Mother Hubbard gave out a loud groan,
Her poor dog had just run away from home.
He could not put up with a boneless life,
So he went to live with a butchers wife.
This made Old Mother Hubbard lose her sleep,
And so she tried counting sheep.
But when she got to ninety-nine,
Bo-Peep said, “hey those sheep are mine”.
“They strayed while I was having fun”,
“With Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum”.
“I ran off with their new rattle”,
“That’s why they had a ding dong battle”.
“So give me back my long lost sheep”,
“And find some other way to go too sleep”.
So Old Mother Hubbard started counting frogs,
She also tried counting cats and dogs.
She tossed and turned and fell out of bed,
Then with a woeful voice she said,
“Theirs no way I can get to sleep”,
“Now little Bo-peep has found her sheep”.
Oh! I wish I’d bought a bone,
Then my poor little dog wouldn’t have left home.
