DEATH OF A PRINCESS

Sadly her life on earth was short,
And only God alone knows why.
He took her to his heavenly home,
And made our nation cry.
We cried a reservoir of tears,
We bared our souls in pain.
Knowing we should never see,
Our dear Princess again.
Never to see her radiant smile,
Or hear her charming voice.
That spoke so many caring words,
To the people of her choice.
She fought so hard to give them hope,
When all seemed lost to them.
She was the people’s Princess,
Our country’s precious gem.
And when we remember her in years to come,
The tears will flow again.
In memory of our dear Princess,
Who’s tragic death caused us so much pain.
