BROKEN DREAMS
Well done you lads of Chesterfield,
How gallantly you played.
You fought like tigers and ran like hares,
Upon the grass you covered every blade.
But that Hillsborough pitch was unlucky
Because fate had decreed that you
Would lose three nil to Middlesborough
And leave you feeling rather blue.
But you can be rest assured my lads,
That in your quest for fame.
The question is not how you lost,
But how well you played the game.
And on that score you won hands down,
In fact you were supreme.
The sad facts are that you my lads
Did not achieve your Wembley dream.
