A RICH LIFE

They've been days so filled with happiness,
With every second pure delight
And days that have been filled with pain,
When I've longed for the dark of night,
There’s been carefree days, so pleasure filled
I've wished would never end
And lovely quiet companionable days
Shared with a special friend,
Those special days with loved ones near,
Oh those I'll not forget!
And happy memories of those who've gone,
But are still with me yet,
There's been days so filled with joyous work,
That seemed not like work at all
And lazy reminiscing days
That are difficult to recall,
Days enriched by music,
Often sad, but sometimes gay,
That filled my soul with ecstasy
And chased all care away,
There were happy hours of being still
And watching wild birds fly
And oh the bliss, of gazing at
The ever changing sky,
Early morning breakfast time
For birds and squirrels too,
When all around was quiet and still,
Till they came into view,
So every second of every hour
Has been savoured, come what may
And I have lived life to the full,
Whatever came each day.
