Father, I know you'll understand
When I ask you today, to take my hand,
I need your presence every day,
But especially on this day, I pray
Please be with me, to guide me through,
Be in my heart and spirit too,
Show me in your loving way
The things to do and the words to say,
Give me understanding too,
That I may feel what others do,
Help me to speak with love and care,
That others may feel Your Presence there,
Give me patience to listen too
And to understand another’s view,
Show me how to quietly say
What's in my heart and mind today
With gentle voice and loving way,
Please guide me Father, through today.
