A MODERN GRANNY

This granny does not sit and knit
or need a rocking chair.
I am always gallivanting
going here and there.
I like to drive my little car
nearly every day.
I am not always sat
at home
that is not my way.
My computer I use
far into the night.
I just love writing poems
both serious and light.
I still help out
at church and school
helping the children.
which I think is cool.
I do still baby sit
when I have the time,
as I love the grandchildren
but they are not mine.
I enjoy nights out
now and again,
Just love reading and writing
and I still use my brain.
You won't find this granny
just sitting near a fire.
I want to be a grandma
who can inspire
my family and friends.
yet
I am here if I am wanted
for on me, they can depend.
