ALBERT’S GOING SOMEWHERE

Mr. and Mrs. Ramsbottom one day sed
to Albert their young son and heir,
We’re not going to Blackpool tower and zoo
cos we’re thinkin of goin ‘elsewhere’.
Young Albert was puzzled at his parent’s words
cos they didn’t sink in his ead,
I’ve never eared of this place called ‘elsewhere’
why can’t we go ‘somewhere’ instead.
That’ll do as tha told sed father Ramsbottom
it’s not up to thee where wi go,
Thi mother and me ave decided
that we’ll go to a place that wi know.
So cheer up mi lad it’s no gud lookin sad
it’s ‘elsewhere’ or ‘nowhere’ for thee,
After all wot’s it matter wherever tha goes
tha can still ave a paddle in’t sea.
By this time young Albert ad just ad enuff
And he sed to is dad tha playin it ruff,
Wen tha says it is ‘elsewhere’ or ‘nowhere’ for me,
I’m not a young kid anymore can’t tha see.
Them days are long gone wen I poked lion in t’ear
And I shan’t miss goin to Blackpool tower this year.
But I’ll be damned if I’m going to ‘elsewhere’ withee,
I’ve made up mi mind it’s ‘somewhere’ for me.
That’s mi final word I shan’t say anymore,
And with that Albert went out and slammed the door.
