AIN’T LIFE TEDIOUS

I work all day and sleep all night,
When daylight breaks I’m such a sight.
With unkempt hair and toothless mouth,
I don’t know bloody north from south.
I slip into my shirt and baggy slacks
And to the bathroom I make tracks.
Then teeth in place I stagger down,
Where my dear wife greets me with a frown.
You haven’t pulled the toilet chain,
So off up the stairs I plod again.
With one big yank I flush the loo,
The wife shouts up watch what you do.
There’s no need to pull hard like that,
You’ll go and wet the bathroom mat.
I answered back don’t make such a fuss,
I’m in a rush to catch that early bus.
The one I missed yesterday once again,
When I forgot to pull the bloody toilet chain.
Life gets tedious doesn’t it?
